Our next show

19 Apr 2013
A big thanks to every one who stopped by our stand at Alexadra Palace last Weekend, we had a very busy show and lots of laughs. It makes all the hard work of setting up, unloading cars and driving through London traffic, (I had forgotten just how bad that was since I moved out of London 16 years ago), all worthwhile. So thank you for making it our busiest show yet.

I will be at the Suffolk Papercraft show on Sunday in Bury St Edmunds with our new designs and all your old favourites so if you are in the area please drop by our stand and say hello, I'll be glad to see you. It's a lovely friendly show, I was there last year and really enjoyed it, great stands, lots of room to shop in comfort and not forgetting a good cup of tea!

5 Lakes Show

11 Feb 2013
Only 2 day's to go before we go off and set up for our first show of the year at the 5 Lakes Resort in Maldon. Key rings and magnets are all finishes and I've just finished making a display board for them. I've sorted out all the stock to go on the stand and made enough cards for 4 new backboards, (over 25 cards) All that's left do do is assemble the boards, pack some more of our sweetie giveaways and make sure all the electrics etc. are in one place, oh and keep my nose pressed against the window watching the snow disappear and keep my fingers crossed that ice doesn't replace it. My back is still out, (not sure where but i hope's it's having fun), it's still not much better after a week and I'm walking around like quasimodo. The strong pain pills and Volterol haven't done much, I wonder if anyone would notice if I lashed myself into my bright emerald green steel boned corset under my white show tee shirt?

Check out our projects in the Creative Stamper Magazine

10 Jan 2013
Check out our projects in the Creative Stamper Magazine Acid Drops & Whatnots have a 5 project, 3 page spread in the latest issue of Creative Stamping Magazine. I really enjoyed creating these quick, easy projects for Creative stamping, they are fast, fun and feature some of my favourite characters. There's Algenon of course, Herbert the ever hopeful, Henrietta, Abbigail and Albert, affectionately known as 'Nudie Norman'.

I hope you enjoy making them as much as I enjoyed creating them, the magazine is on the news stands now.

First Class Of The Year

10 Jan 2013
First Class Of The Year
I don't know where the time went but It's 5 weeks since the last class and I'm still nowhere near organised! As Promised, the first class of the year will be an easy one, a nice gentle stroll in the park to get you back in practice. The class is titled Simply Elegant and it is exactly what it said say on the packet. 4 cards, easy to make and with a simple streamline elegant look. The 2 cards featuring  the trio of ladies and the elegant model are taken from vintage French fashion plates of the twenties. I have designed the samples in their simplest form but there is lots of scope to add a twist of your own if you're feeling adventurous. The card with the simple ribbon weaving comes with a choice of toppers, larger, smaller, men's and women's. This is a good technique to use if you want a very understated card for example a sympathy card, or if you want to do away with an image and just have wording, it's a good technique to have in your repertoire. Th last card is a very simple tag card, a quick and easy format if you need a card in a hurry. This one has been made using Die cut printed tags but you could easily make your own to co-ordinate with you backing paper.

It will be great getting back in harness and away from the dreaded computer and meeting up with you all again. The class is as usual at The Old Fire Station, Hockley in Essex, it starts at 7pm and goes on 'til 9.30pm. The cost is unchanged at £10 an includes all the products needed to complete the class, use of our tools, full colour printed instructions and of course tea/coffer and biscuits. If I don't already have your name or fancy giving us a try or haven't been for a while but fancy a crafty night out, just drop me an email and I'll add you to the list.

Look forward to seeing you all soon

Only 2 more classes 'til Christmas

10 Nov 2012
Only 2 more classes 'til Christmas The nights are drawing in, the weather is getting cold, and there's only 2 more of my Card making classes until Christmas. Please excuse me while I run around like a headless chicken at the realisation that the festive season is not only round the corner but almost at the end of the street. Every year I say that I'm going to be ready well ahead of time but every year I'm later and later. I do have a bit of an excuse, In the last 3 months, I've learnt to build a website, learnt how to handle graphics on a computer, designed a stamp range and exhibited at 4 stamp shows along with Niki. Christmas is going to be a doddle.

For over 2 years I've run a twice monthly craft class in Hockly, Essex, at a lovely venue called The Old Fire Station. They take place on Wednesday evenings, start at 7.00 pm and last for about 2 1/2 hours. The cost is £10 and this includes a pack containing all the materials needed to make the projects, a set of full colour typed instructions for you to keep, use of our tools and of course the all important tea and coffee. We are very relaxed group and always welcome new members to our craft paper craft evenings. There is also a selection of craft supplies available for you to buy if you need to top up your stash.

The 2 remaining dates are; Wed 21st November and Wed 5th December. If you would like more information or fancy coming along just email me on karenosborne99@gmail .com and I can add you to the class database if you request it, I email out a class description and a photo of the projects before each class.

The picture features our last project, a snowman wall hanging.
