Acid drops and Whatnots is the brainchild of friends Karen and Niki who between them have nearly 30 years experience in the craft industry as designers, teachers, retailers and demonstrators.
We are both avid card makers, and, frustrated at being unable to find stamps suitable for adults that were funny and different, especially when it came to men, we have long been threatening to design our own. Now, 2 years later we have finally knuckled down and done it!
With both of us being slightly on the eccentric side, (with me itís definitely a work in progress), and both of us being blessed with an irreverent sense of humour, there was really only one direction our designs where going to head. With Acid drops and Whatnots we have tried to blend visually funny images with the quirky humorous quips and quotes that we have both collected over the years. Iíve had a great deal of fun tracking down the artwork and have even overcome my technophobic instincts to fine tune images and develop the range.
We wanted to produce a range that was fun, simple to work with, adaptable and great value for money. Images that you didn't need to spend hours on, just stamp them, layer them and add the odd jewel or bow here and there. They work well with all types of colouring from pro markers to chalk but equally they work well stamped in a good black ink and layered with black card for a stylish monochrome look.
We are very excited about this new venture and are looking forward to meeting friends old and new when we exhibit and demonstrate our stamps at paper craft shows around the country. So if you see us at exhibitions please stop by and say hello and let us introduce to our cast of characters. You can also follow us on our new facebook page and our blog.
Thanks for visiting our site, and we would love to hear any comments or suggestions that you have. If you've got a favourite paper craft show that you would like to see us at, or if you have any thoughts of designs you would like to see more of or have any quotes that you think would work well please let us know.
As for us, itís back to the drawing board to work on the next batch of stamp sets.
